Appeal after serious motorbike crash on Old Sheppey Way at Bobbing

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash.

The rider, a man in his 40s from Sittingbourne, was flown to London's King's College Hospital after his green Kawasaki motorbike and a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided.

He remains at the hospital.

The crash happened on the Old Sheppey Way, between Bobbing and Iwade, at 11.49am yesterday, prompting police to shut the road for around five hours.

Emergency services including two fire engines, police and critical care paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service were sent to deal with the accident.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit would now like to hear from anyone with information who has not already spoken to police.

They would particularly like to speak with anybody who saw the motorbike or van leading up to the collision.
