A distraught family is appealing for help in tracing their missing dog, who is deaf and has dementia.

Milo hasn't been seen since 6pm on Thursday, when he disappeared from his garden in Belnor Avenue in Bobbing, near Parsonage Lane.

Owner Rebecca Simpson says she the 15-year-old collie cross desperately needs medication, which he hasn't had since Wednesday.

An appeal to help find Milo on Facebook has already been shared more than 200 times.

The 35-year-old nurse said: "I let him out at 5pm and last saw him pacing the garden.

"Because he has dementia he often gets stuck in places so initially when I couldn't see him I thought that's what had happened but he had just vanished.

"The garden gate is always shut and he can't walk very far so I'm at a loss as to how he got out or what might have happened to him.

"My fear is that he's got into a field and got stuck in brambles and become distressed."

The family spent all night looking for Milo, who is microchipped, and have called all the local vets, but with no luck.

Mrs Simpson added: "We've had him for 15 years so he really is a family member. My son Reuben loves him and keeps asking where he is. He was on his last legs but I don't want to think this is how he will go."
