Armed officers intercepted a car on the M25 and returned the driver to prison following a police chase.
Police stopped the vehicle this morning on the anti-clockwise carriageway near the Dartford Crossing towards Essex.
A picture of the aftermath, showing a BMW on the hard shoulder and next to a police car, was shared by the Kent Roads Policing account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The post said firearms units stopped the vehicle, following a TPAC (Tactical Pursuit And Containment).
A police spokesman said: “At about 9.30am today, officers stopped a vehicle on the M25 anti-clockwise near the Dartford crossing.
“The driver, a 37-year-old man from Sittingbourne, was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and was also wanted for recall to prison. He remains in custody awaiting his transfer back to prison.”
Although armed officers responded to the incident, it was not an armed response.
