A 38-year-old Borat lookalike has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Lifeguard Martin McAndrews was ordered to complete 300 hours of community service when he appeared for sentencing at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court.

He was also made the subject of a six-month community order and put on the sex offenders’ register for five years.

McAndrews has also been dismissed from his job at the Swallows leisure centre in Sittingbourne.

At Maidstone Magistrates’ Court in January, he denied touching his 17-year-old victim in an inappropriate manner, but was subsequently found guilty at the same court in March.

He has also been ordered to pay £635 in court costs and a £60 victim payment.

McAndrews made headlines in 2007 when he was subjected to a campaign of bullying from people using the Swallows.

Video clips of him were posted on YouTube highlighting his resemblance to comedy character Borat, who had a similar moustache to the Heather Close resident.

Visitors to the leisure complex also taunted McAndrews by yelling Borat catchphrases at him.

A spokesman for Serco, the company which manages The Swallows, said: “When these allegations were raised, Mr McAndrews was suspended.

“Following his conviction, Mr McAndrews’ employment has been terminated.”
