A 4x4 towing a stolen caravan ended up in a lake.
Police were called to Newman Drive in Kemsley, near Sittingbourne, to find the silver Mitsubishi Shogun partially submerged in the lake and the caravan resting on the green.
People living nearby initially thought there had been a police chase, but the force said that was not the case.
Police made the discovery shortly before 6.30am on Wednesday.
A spokesman said: “The vehicles were recovered from the lake and taken to a secure compound.”
He added that the caravan, which was stolen near to where it was found in Kemsley, was "due to be released back to the rightful owner soon" and that "inquiries were ongoing".
