15:27, 28 May 2024
A church with planning permission to be converted into a house is set to be sold at auction for more than £300,000.
The Green Street Methodist Church in Lynsted, near Sittingbourne, is on the market with the green light to be turned into a three-bedroom property.
Located south of the A2 London Road, the former place of worship has a garden and off-road parking at the back.
It is among 175 lots listed for sale by Clive Emson, the land and property auctioneers, ahead of its next sale, which is its 250th.
It is being offered with a freehold guide price of £330,000.
Jon Rimmer, auction appraiser, said: “Church and chapel conversions are very popular.
“The buildings are generally extremely well built and often they are in the centre of a village.
“This has permission to be converted into a three-bedroom house.
“At present the interior is a large worship hall with other smaller rooms including a kitchen.
“Builders are likely to be interested in this lot and there will be plenty of demand for such a property.”
Clive Emson Auctioneers holds auctions eight times a year, this sale will conclude on Wednesday, June 12.
It offers specialist advice for auction purposes in Essex, London, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and the West Country.
It is one of the top five property auctioneers in the UK.
