A249 queues growing southbound due to crash

A three-vehicle crash is causing tailbacks on the A249.
The collision on the southbound carriageway is causing traffic to queue between the A2 Keycol Hill roundabout and Junction 5 on the M2, Sittingbourne.
At one stage congestion went beyond Bobbing and affected the A2 westbound also.
Sheppey Way was also said to be struggling with traffic flow.
An ambulance crew was called to the scene, near the Sittingbourne roundabout, at around 2.20pm.
Medics assessed and treated one person who has since been taken to Medway Maritime hospital.
Police were also called to the scene. They reported no serious injuries but the road remained closed until 4pm.
