Crash on A249 Sheppey Crossing

The northbound A249 was closed after a vehicle fire on the Sheppey Crossing this afternoon.
The incident happened in the Sheerness-bound carriageway, temporarily closing the section to traffic.
Both lanes have now reopened.
It comes an hour after a broken down vehicle blocked a lane of the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway.
Long delays are building up in the area.
A spokesman for Kent Police, said: "Kent Police was called at 1.06pm on Sunday 24 December to a report of a vehicle on fire on the Sheerness-bound section of the Sheppey Crossing.
"Officers are currently at the scene. No injuries have been reported."
