Factory yard alight on Eurolink Business Park Sittingbourne

A blaze broke out at a factory on an industrial estate.

The fire started in the yard of the building in Sittingbourne shortly before 8pm on Saturday.

The blaze was at a business on the Eurolink Business Park in Castle Road.

Plumes of smoke could be seen in the area and four fire engines were at the scene.

The emergency services were parked outside the FloPlast business on the estate.

Founded in 1991, FloPlast manufactures and supplies plastic building and plumbing systems to the construction industry.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with water jets and high-pressure hose reel jets.

Everyone was accounted for and there were no reports of any injuries.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire has not been established.

Crews had put out the fire by 8.50pm.
