A Sittingbourne fashionista has won a national award for her clothing colour consultancy business.

Bobbing resident Helen Sait launched her company, Radiance by Helena, in October and since then it has gone from strength to strength, with an ever-expanding client base.

Colour analysis initially became popular in the 1980s and, in the world of fashion, is the practice of determining the most suitable clothing for a person based on their skin tone, eye colour and hair style.

The unusual art of matching has made a comeback in the past year, with lots of dress-conscious women using the service to determine the outfits that look best on them to improve their body image and confidence.

The 37-year-old’s website has been given a silver award by mumpreneur.co.uk after being judged by industry professionals who specialise in spotting new trends and looking for up-and-coming businesses.

The mum-of-two said of her growing company: “My business is summed up with the Coco Chanel quote, ‘the best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you’.

“When I had my ‘colours done’ it literally transformed my life overnight.

"It gave me a huge confidence boost, the compliments started flowing in, and still are. And no more clothes crises every morning!

“I also actually lost weight simply because I felt so good. My only regret is that I wish I’d had it done sooner.

"All women deserve to look and feel good, and that’s why I’ve brought my colour consultancy business to my home town.

"I want the women of Sittingbourne to feel fabulous and wow every day.”

To celebrate the award given to her, she is offering to give a free consultancy pampering session to someone local who has a big day or important event coming up.
