About 20 firefighters tackled a huge fire near Sittingbourne which destroyed a double garage with two caravans inside.
They were called to Ruins Barn Road in Tunstall at about 10.15pm last night.
Two crews from Sittingbourne where joined by others from Rainham and Teynham, as well as a water carrier from Larkfield.
They spent more than three hours fighting the fire, which also destroyed farm outbuildings.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) spokesman said: "It was a warm evening and with the fire pumping out hundreds of degrees on top of that, it was extremely arduous, physical work for the crews who worked hard to bring it under control in very difficult conditions and prevent it spreading to the house."
Police were called and closed off the road while the firefighters fought the blaze.
It took an hour and a half to put the fire out and crews were there another half an hour damping down hot spots.
The last fire engine left at about 2am today.
The KFRS spokesman said the cause was being investigated.
