Mushroom loving cat is missing from Milton Regis
16:45, 27 July 2016
Cats going missing is a common situation, but one couple have taken it in good humour in the hope it will bring their beloved Richard home.
Bernie and Melissa Moulton, from Milton Regis, have created a poster which describes their two cats, Cleo and Richard Meowton, in a way more often associated with a dating profile.
He has been missing since Saturday night.
The two moggies, both Cornish Rex cats, often disappear due to well-wishers taking them in as their breed is uncommon with fur that makes them look uncared for, but that’s not the case according to the couple.
Having shared a poster explaining the pair and their quirky personalities on Facebook, the couple are desperate to get their beloved pet back as their other cat Cleo is “totally distraught”.
The poster reads: “Richard: Cuddle monster; lover of mushrooms; loves to roll around in the dirt and then lay on clean washing. Always wants attention.
“When they moult, they can look very sorry for themselves; especially Richard as he’s a vain b****r. Tell him he’s pretty, he likes that.”
Melissa said: “In the past, well meaning cat lovers have tried to take our cat Richard believing him to be a stray, thankfully he’s always been quickly returned to us.
“Please help find him.”
She urged people to check their sheds and garages and advised that he’s also fond of sunbathing in greenhouses.
Anyone who has seen Richard should contact Bernie via Facebook or email Chicken.George.85@hotmail.co.uk
