Gary Abbott wants top 10 finish in Ryman League Division 1 for Sittingbourne
08:00, 11 March 2011
Finishing in the Ryman League, Division 1 South top 10 is the target Sittingbourne manager Gary Abbott has set his players ahead of Saturday's visit of Walton Casuals.
The Brickies returned to winning ways last Saturday with a 1-0 win against Chipstead and although Abbott (pictured) feels the play-offs may be out of reach, he says his side can finish the campaign strongly.
After the deserved victory against Chipstead, Abbott is hopeful his makeshift side can battle hard for another three points against Casuals.
Abbott’s men are six points adrift of the play-offs with 10 games of the season remaining.
He said: "It’s going to be a tough game as they all are in this division but as we keep seeing, anyone can beat anyone in this league.
"Walton lost to Whitstable last week and drew against Corinthian Casuals on Tuesday but all we can do is finish as high as we can in that top 10."
However, Sittingbourne will be without midfielder Billy Manners, who joined promotion-chasing Met Police this week.
