A family of a young girl are well on their way to posting a little bit of magic through more than 1,000 doors.

Angel Farley, from Iwade, has been writing Christmas cards to fellow villagers and posting the messages through doors.

It started in 2017 when the 11-year-old originally posted 100 Christmas cards to towns further afield, including Medway.

Angel, who used to attend Iwade Primary School, uses a walker for short distances and a wheelchair for longer distances.

She has had her leg amputated, and has a missing hip socket and femur.

Angel and her sisters sign each and every single card posted.

Her father, Rob Farley, said: “Angel loves writing out Christmas cards and we’ve had so many nice comments. We made a lady cry last year and it’s so amazing.

“We’re going to start doing it every single year. It’s nice to see a smile put on peoples faces.

“We’ve done 1,060 cards so far with some still to deliver. We’ve been delivering to people everywhere in Iwade.”

They hope to increase the numbers given out and are trying to find out how many properties are in the area.

Mr Farley added: “We go round delivering cards to random people and we get so many saying thank you and saying it’s nice to see us out and about. It’s just something that makes Angel really happy.

“She’s done it for the last four years and she loves it. It’s basically putting the magic back into Christmas and making people happy - that’s what we’re doing it for.”

Angel has been given a helping hand by her father, Rob, mother Holly, and two sisters, nine-year-old Mikayla, eight-year-old Tia-Leigh and four-year-old Sienna.

In August Angel raised more than £1,200 for medics at the Medway Maritime Hospital’s Disablement Service Centre, where she was treated. She walked from her Iwade home to the Gillingham centre.
