Bomb found in Dover detonated off Wises Lane in Borden, near Sittingbourne

A bomb found 37 miles away was detonated on farmland on the outskirts of Sittingbourne.
A smoke grenade was seized on Sunday after a member of the public brought it to the attention of a police officer on patrol in Crabble Hill, Dover.
It was then brought back to Sittingbourne Police Station to be stored securely until it could be disposed of.
However, the condition of the device began to deteriorate and bomb disposal experts from the British Army were notified as a precaution.
Police said the grenade was safely disposed of in a farmer's field off Wises Lane in Borden shortly after 11am on Monday.
