Handbag snatchers punch woman in face

A 38-year-old woman was punched in the face and had her handbag stolen during a late-night street robbery.
The incident happened between midnight and 12.10am on Saturday, July 14, as the victim was walking along Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne.
Police say she was aware of two people walking towards her and one of them spoke to her. When she looked up to acknowledge the two offenders, she was punched in the face and fell to the floor. Her black handbag was then taken.
Police say they have no description of the offenders. The victim is described as white with short hair, which is spikey at the back.
She was wearing a black and white diamond patterned jumper, black three quarter length trousers and black shoes.
Police believe a number of vehicles drove passed when the incident took place and they are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
