Plough and Harrow pub in Oad Street, Borden, up for sale
07:00, 11 March 2017
A historic pub has gone on sale for £700,000.
The Plough and Harrow in Oad Street, Borden, has been closed since the end of January and is being marketed by Maidstone estate agents Christie and Co.
The 16th century freehouse has been owned by the Jones family for three years and they said a different work/life balance was behind the move.
Kesnia Jones said: “We’ve spoken to lots of people who want to run it without buying it.
“We want to make sure whoever takes it on will continue to keep it as a pub, we want it to be successful.”
Christie and Co wrote in the online description: “Our clients have spent a considerable amount of time and money refurbishing it making it an ideal opportunity for a new owner to trade.
“The business was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor, so presents the opportunity to build on the former reputation.”
