One of the county’s busiest roads was shut following an accident.
The Sheppey-bound carriageway of the A249 between the Stockbury and Grovehurst roundabouts was closed to all non-emergency traffic. It has now been reopened.
Police say a car collided with central reservation barrier at 10.15am just before the slip road to Kemsley. The driver was uninjured.
The barrier has had to be repaired and officers say the road should re-open shortly.
The southbound lane has remained open but motorists were warned to expect long delays.
There were also tailbacks on the M2 as motorists try to come off at junction five.
