A high street Iceland store is closing down.
The supermarket has confirmed it will be leaving Sittingbourne town centre permanently.
On a flyer, posted through the doors of residents living in Gazehill Avenue, Sittingbourne, Iceland announced it would be shutting its doors at 4pm next Saturday.
It read: “Sorry we’re closing…But if you like Iceland, you’ll love the Food Warehouse.
“Your Sittingbourne Iceland store is permanently closing from 4pm on Saturday, July 15.”
The Food Warehouse is part of the Iceland Foods Group.
It was formed in 2014 and offers a range of exclusive brand products such as Slimming World, Greggs, TGI's, Chiquito's and many more.
The nearest Food Warehouse for customers used to shopping at Sittingbourne’s Iceland is in Spring Retail Park along Eurolink Way.
The branch opened in 2018 and immediately prompted questions being asked about the future of the High Street store.
Iceland has been contacted for comment.
