Motorists were stuck in long queues this morning following two crashes on a stretch of motorway.
The M2 London-bound carriageway was partially blocked between junction 5 for the Stockbury Roundabout and junction 4 for Hoath Way, Gillingham.
According to Kent County Council (KCC) Highways the emergency services were en route to the scene at around 8am.
The team warned drivers to “use caution on the approach and expect delays” in the area.
One motorist who drove past the crash earlier this morning said three cars were involved including a Ford and a Mercedes Benz.
He added: “It looked like the three had crashed into each other and the central reservation.”
Paramedics attended at around 7.40am, however, no one required hospital treatment.
Traffic was said to be affected on the M2 and the A249.
Drivers have also been caught up in lengthy queues between junction 3 for Blue Bell Hill and junction 2 for Strood on the same stretch of the M2.
It is understood to have been caused by a crash which blocked the inside lane of the carriageway.
National Highways traffic officers were on the scene.
