An angry man smashed his neighbour’s car windows after getting fed up with her playing loud music in the flat above his.
Aaron King damaged the VW Polo one morning in September when it was parked outside her home in Connaught Road, Sittingbourne.
The 35-year-old smashed the front window then walked around to the back and smashed the back window, causing at least £200 worth of damage.
The incident was witnessed by an off-duty police officer and King was arrested and later charged with criminal damage.
He admitted the offence when he appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on October 25.
Dylan Bradshaw, prosecuting, said the incident happened at about 11.35am on September 22.
Mr Bradshaw added: “The victim was his downstairs’ neighbour at the time.”
The damage cost £200, he said, and she was left frightened by the incident and was looking for alternative accommodation.
However, the court also heard King was now of no fixed address because he had lost his home after the incident and had also lost his job.
The bench was told he had made two complaints about the loud music to the landlord.
King also felt police were monitoring his movements and that his neighbour was involved with the police.
Magistrates fined him £55 for the offence but ordered he pay his neighbour £200 compensation, as well as victim surcharge of £22 and £85 court costs.
