Part of the M2 will be closed tonight and tomorrow night as work on the Stockbury roundabout revamp continues.
The M2 coast bound exit at junction 5 for Maidstone, Sittingbourne and Sheppey will have temporary barriers installed to keep workforce and the public safe.
The slip-road will be closed from 8pm tonight until 5am tomorrow and again from 8pm tomorrow until 5am Thursday.
Drivers travelling coast bound who want to come off the M2 at junction 5 will need to leave at junction 3 and follow the A229 and A249 to get to unction five.
Or drivers can continue to junction 6, turn around and use the London bound carriageway and exit at junction 5.
This road closures are for preparation work for the £92 million Stockbury roundabout revamp which was approved last month.
Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps approved the plans for major changes to the road in a bid to reduce collision at one of Kent's busiest junctions.
Work is expected to start in September but preparation work is under way.
Highways England said the works at Junction 5 of the M2 for Sittingbourne, Sheppey, and Maidstone, the interchange with the A249 at Stockbury, will lead to safer journeys for hundreds of thousands of drivers.
The southbound A249 between the Bobbing roundabout to north of the Stockbury roundabout is also set to be closed at 8pm Friday until 5am Monday for the works.
This work was due to be completed in early July but was delayed due to bridge repair work on the M2.
National Highways says: "We know there’s never a good time to close a busy road like the A249, and we’d like to thank everyone for their patience while we’ve been carrying our improvement work."
