Benjamin Peter Vidler, of Sheerness, charged over alleged assault on Ted Seagers, 86

A man has been charged following an alleged assault on an 86-year-old at a fishing lake.
Ted Seagers was reportedly attacked at Milton Creek Country Park on Sunday.
Police arrested Benjamin Peter Vidler, of Marine Parade, Sheerness, in connection with the incident yesterday.
The 39-year-old was later charged with assault, criminal damage and theft. He has been bailed to attend Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on September 10.
Mr Seagers, of Langley Road, Milton Regis, who is the head bailiff at the park, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital. His mobile phone was also allegedly thrown into the lake.
