Man appears in court after Sittingbourne Sainsbury's car park incident
10:19, 21 October 2009
A man has appeared in court charged with a firearms offence following an incident in the car park at the Sittingbourne branch of Sainsbury’s.
David O’Connor, 25, of Tufton Road, Gillingham, was in the dock at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday.
It is alleged he was in possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence on October 1.
O’Connor did not enter any plea to the charge during the hearing and is due to return to court on December 4.
Judge Jeremey Carey released O’Connor on bail with conditions of residence, reporting three times a week to police and not to go to the Sainsbury’s store in Sittingbourne.
