Man stabbed near Jenny Wren pub in Sittingbourne

A man was airlifted to hospital after being stabbed while sitting in his car.

Police are investigating the attack, which happened in Quartz Way, Sittingbourne.

Three police cars, a police van, and a forensics vehicle were called at about 4.45pm yesterday.

They taped off a car park behind the One Stop shop next to the Jenny Wren pub.

Police confirmed they were called to a property in Emerald Crescent.

A spokesman said: "Officers arrived at the address where the man in his 20s had suffered an injury, consistent with a stab wound.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment.

"The victim reported he'd just been assaulted whilst he was sat in his car in Quartz Way.

"Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing."

People saw the Air Ambulance landing in a nearby field after the attack.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "At 4.51pm yesterday we sent two response cars and an ambulance to a patient with a penetrating chest wound at Emerald Crescent in Sittingbourne.

"The man in his 20s was flown by the air ambulance to King's College Hospital for further treatment."
