Attempted abduction of girl in Sittingbourne

A man reportedly tried to abduct a girl while she was out walking her dog in Sittingbourne.
Sources said he attempted to grab her in the Beaconsfield Road area near Peel Drive at last night.
Police were called to the area at 7.30pm after they received reports of a man acting suspiciously.
It is understood officers were carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the hours after it happened.
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and carried out a search for the man but were unable to locate him.
"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances behind the incident."
