Sittingbourne mum appeals after pet tortoise goes missing from Sonora Way
13:10, 18 September 2016
A mum has launched a Facebook appeal after the family tortoise went missing a week ago.
Gary is a 12-year-old Horsefield tortoise, who lives with the family in Sittingbourne.
His owner admits however that Gary may not be the most appropriate name.
"We've actually been told Gary is a girl, but we didn't know that, we don't know how you tell with tortoises," she quipped.
Gary is greatly missed by the family's five-year-old, who has become quite attached to him.
The tortoise went missing from the family home on Sonora Way a week ago, and its owner is urging anyone in the area to keep an eye out for him.
Anyone with information should call Gary's owner on 07841 867547.
