New appeal after woman dies in road tragedy

KENT Police today made a fresh appeal for information after a 33-year-old woman pedestrian was killed in a collision with a car.
The tragedy happened on the A249, Maidstone Road, Sittingbourne, at around 9pm on Sunday.
Police say the victim, from the Sheerness area, was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not yet been named.
A male and a child who were with the dead woman were treated for shock, but otherwise uninjured.
Police spokeswoman Sally Smith said: "The car involved was a yellow Fiat Siencento. The woman driver and her child passenger were treated for shock but are not believed to have been hurt in the collision.
"Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision. Police also want to hear from any person who may have seen pedestrians walking along the A249 prior to the incident, even if they did not actually see the tragedy occur.
