Sentado Lounge at Bourne Place in Sittingbourne to open this month

The opening date of a new café bar in the the town centre has been revealed.

Sentado Lounge will open its doors for customers from 9am on Wednesday, October 14, at its new site in Bourne Place, St Michael's Road, Sittingbourne .

It is part of the multi-million pound regeneration for the town centre, which is being delivered by the Spirit of Sittingbourne consortium, and is set to be joined by a an eight-screen Light Cinema and restaurants such as Nando's, Pizza Express and dessert chain Creams.

West Country based Loungers PLC are behind the opening of the new café bar, which will create 25 jobs.

It has described the new addition to the town as a "family-friendly, retro-inspired cosy retreat" which will follow the style of many of their other Lounge sites.

The café will be child friendly with games, books and colouring, as well as having a community notice board for people to publicise any events or fundraiser they're holding.

It is also running a Facebook competition for people to win the chance to attend their socially distanced opening night with free tapas and drinks.

The Spirit of Sittingbourne regeneration project, which is a partnership between U+I, Quinn Estates, Essential Land and Swale council, is expected to bring more than £300m of investment to the town.
