Emergency services had to rescue two people who got stuck in mud near Sittingbourne.
Three fire engines were sent to Conyer Wharf in Conyer yesterday afternoon along with police, the ambulance service and the coastguard after reports of people in difficulty.
The Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) water safety unit were able to throw a line to the pair before they were towed to safety by a dinghy.
Following the rescue, which began at around 3.30pm, they were passed to ambulance crews for medical checks.
The incident happened on Conyer Creek, a tidal inlet flowing off the Swale channel.
A spokesman for KFRS said: "Following the incident, crews are reminding people to be aware of tide times by rivers and the coast, and to be careful in muddy areas, since it can be easy to become stuck.
"You should also always bring a mobile phone out with you, so that you can call for help if you're in an emergency."
