Pet rabbit stolen from garden
12:08, 26 August 2005
POLICE are investigating the theft of a rabbit from a Kent back garden.
The pet was taken between 9am on Wednesday and 7.30am on Thursday from the property in Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne.
The black nine-month-old rabbit is valued at around £20.
Sgt Evan Jones said: "Stealing a pet is not only cruel to the animal but causes great distress to the owner.
"I would like to urge people to advantage of any security measure available to them and consider putting pets, such as rabbits and guinea-pigs, in a shed, garage or conservatory overnight."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
