Officers are hunting the driver of a stolen truck which rammed a police car last night.
It happened in Doddington between Sittingbourne and Faversham.
An officer spotted the Toyota in The Street and began to follow it, but the driver rammed the police car and then ran off from the scene.
The officer was not injured during the collision but despite a search the driver was not found.
The truck was reported stolen earlier in the evening from Hastings in East Sussex.
Police spokesman, Vicki Foster said: "An officer was on a routine patrol in Sittingbourne at around 7.45pm when a car came to his attention due to the manner it was being driven near The Street.
"The officer attempted to pursue the vehicle before being involved in a collision with the vehicle.
"Following the incident the driver decamped from the vehicle."
Ms Foster added: "A search was carried out for the driver but no arrests have yet been made.
"The vehicle was reported as stolen from Hastings and officers are continuing inquiries into the incident."
