The Sheppey Crossing has reopened after a "police incident".
It shut shortly after 12.30pm, preventing traffic coming onto the Island.
Traffic was diverted to leave the A249 at the Grovehurst roundabout junction, heading through Iwade and across the Kingsferry bridge.
Ambulance crews were also called.
A spokesman said: "Just after 12.30pm we responded to a single vehicle collision on the A249, just before the bridge.
"A man in his 30s needed medical attention and has been taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
"It is thought he had a medical incident behind the wheel."
KCC Highways tweeted to say the closure was due to a police incident and that drivers should expect delays in the area.
It has since tweeted to say it has reopened.
Police have been contacted for comment.
