Sittingbourne: Officers make arrest after distraction robbery at Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop

Police have made an arrest after a woman who withdrew £4,000 to buy a new car had the cash stolen.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old woman in connection with the distraction robbery which happened in the Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop in Sittingbourne last month.

The victim had just taken out the cash from her bank but noticed it was missing after another woman bumped into her, allegedly on purpose.

The incident happened at shop in the High Street between 1.30pm and 2pm last Friday, October 27.

Officers previously issued CCTV of two women they wanted to speak to as they believed the suspect was working with an accomplice.

The arrested woman has been released while the investigation continues.
