Drivers faced more delays yesterday, with a crash involving two vehicles blocking a road.
Sheppey Way, in Bobbing, Sittingbourne, was blocked in both directions due to an accident near the services turn off.
A spokesman from the police said: "Officers were called at 12.35pm on Sunday to a collision involving two cars on Sheppey Way near Bobbing.
"Paramedics attended the where a woman received treatment to a minor injury.
"The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident."
Motorists already faced another day of long delays, following the closure of the London-bound carriageway of the M2.
It was shut on Friday at 8pm between junction 7 for Faversham and junction 5 for Sittingbourne.
The official diversion put in place told motorists to go via the A2 coastbound, A20 Londonbound, M20 and A249 – a route of 69.5 miles taking around one hour and 20 minutes.
One driver was captured attempting to reverse down the outside lane of the A2 in an effort to escape the traffic chaos.
The carriageway reopened this morning.
