Road death inquest adjourned
00:00, 09 July 2004
AN INQUEST into the death of a Sittingbourne grandmother had to be adjourned today because the coroner's office was unable to notify a crucial witness in the case.
Marie Strevens, 53, of Meads Avenue, Quinton, died on December 13 while crossing nearby Quinton Road, with her 12-year-old grand-daughter who survived.
Mrs Strevens was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Zafira driven by Lorraine Hannah who was the witness not notified in time because she had moved address. The inquest is due to resume next Thursday.
