Robbery suspect charged in connection with shop heist probe in West Street, Sittingbourne

A suspect has been charged in connection with a robbery investigation.
Police were called to West Street, Sittingbourne where it was alleged three men entered a shop and a store worker was threatened and assaulted.
The incident happened on the evening of October 2 and cigarettes and bottles of alcohol were stolen.
An investigation by officers from Swale CID led to the arrest of a suspect on Wednesday.
Ben Bignall, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery and failing to provide a sample for a drug test whilst in custody.
The 40-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court today where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on January 19.
