A bonfire near a house got out of control last night, causing a shed and part of a fence to go up in flames.
The incinerator fire at a home in Sittingbourne spread to the structure and two fire engines attended just before 9.30pm.
Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
Nobody was injured in the accident but Kent Fire and Rescue is urging residents to be extra careful when using incinerators.
A spokesperson added: “A shed and multiple fence panels were destroyed last night at a house in Sittingbourne after a fire in an incinerator caught alight to the shed.
“Following the incident, crews are reminding people to ensure that whenever having a bonfire outside, that it is kept well away from anything that could catch alight, like trees, bushes and buildings.
“Burning should be supervised at all times and there should always be a bucket of water nearby.”
