A motorway slip road closure is causing lengthy rush hour delays.

The Stockbury roundabout coastbound slip road onto the M2 was closed this morning for extensive emergency repairs.

A lane of the main carriageway was also been shut between junctions 5 and 6, causing delays of up to 30 minutes on the M2 eastbound between junctions 3 and 5.

The road reopened just after 6.35pm.

The closure caused heavy traffic this morning on the A249 southbound coming from Sheppey and delays on the northbound south of the roundabout coming from Maidstone.
