Soccer legend to visit hospice
09:40, 07 January 2005
FORMER England soccer captain Gary Lineker is to visit the Demelza House children's hospice near Sittingbourne on Tuesday, January 18, to open a new playroom.
Footballers from the Premiership team Charlton Athletic will also be among the celebrities present for the official opening of a soft, padded play area.
It was funded by a £215,000 contribution from Kent estate agents Ward & Partners. It also allows the loft area above the playroom to be converted into a relaxation area for adolescents to listen to music or watch TV.
Gary Lineker is now as well known as a TV presenter as he was a footballer.
