No trains between Sittingbourne, Queenborough and Sheerness tonight

A lack of staff has led to six trains being cancelled tonight.

Southeastern has warned passengers that commuter trains between Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey won't run from 6pm because a member of staff has not turned up.

A tweet to travellers warned: "Due to a member of staff being unavailable, six trains have been cancelled and will be replaced by buses between Sheerness and Sittingbourne."

The services affected are:

5.55 Sittingbourne to Sheerness

6.59 Sittingbourne to Sheerness

7.45 Sittingbourne to Sheerness

and the

6.16 Sheerness to Sittingbourne

7.21 Sheerness to Sittingbourne

8.21 Sheerness to Sittingbourne

Buses will run from Sittingbourne station forecourt. Kemsley bus lay-by, Swale Halt lay-bay, Main Road Queenborough and the Arriva bus depot outside Sheerness train station.

The announcement was also tweeted by National Rail which said normal service was expected to be restored by 8.40pm this evening.
