Suspect held over cyclist's death

A DRIVER has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after an incident in Sittingbourne which claimed the life of a cyclist.
The suspect, who was arrested outside the county, has been released on police bail pending further inquiries. Officers have also seized a vehicle as part of their inquiries.
Police are still appealing for information about the hit-and-run accident on Friday night in which 26-year-old Lithuanian Robertas Zalepuga suffered fatal head injuries. Mr Zalepuga, a warehouse worker, of Emerald Road, Sittingbourne, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital where he died.
The accident happened on the Bobbing-bound side of the Staplehurst Link Road at about 10.30pm.
