Three youths arrested after gang of 20 damages Sittingbourne Railway Station

Three youths were arrested, including one with a metal pole, after officers were called to a gang of 20 damaging a train station.

When British Transport Police were called to Sittingbourne Railway Station near Milton Road at around 8pm they arrived to a "hostile crowd" which outnumbered them.

One of the members of the group was hiding a metal pole which officers found on him.

A BTP spokesman said: "Three youths have been arrested yesterday after reports of 20 people damaging Sittingbourne station.

"Officers turned up and were outnumbered by a hostile crowd.

"Two youths were taken home and dealt with and the one whom had a metal pole hidden on him was taken to custody."

A CCTV camera was damaged before police arrived and no officers were injured.
