18:30, 11 September 2017
A man had to be cut from his vehicle after a three car smash on the A2 at Newington.
It happened at shortly before 5pm near Playstool Road, and police, ambulance and fire crews were sent to the scene.
Reports suggest a car was crushed between two other vehicles.
No one was seriously injured, but firefighters confirmed they cut the roof off one of the car's involved to free a man trapped inside.
A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a collision, reported to involve three vehicles, in London Road, Newington, at 4.54pm.
“The South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene.
“A closure was enforced to allow fire crews to remove a man from one of the vehicles and he has since been taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries that are not reported to be serious.
“Officers remain at the scene and one of the vehicles involved is awaiting recovery.”
