One lane of the M2 was blocked following a crash involving a caravan trailer.
It happened coast-bound between junction 5, for Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Maidstone, and junction 6, for Faversham at about 1pm.
The caravan is thought to have become detached from a car, hit the central reservation and ended up in the outside lane.
A police spokesman said officers were called at 1.02pm.
He added: "It was reported a caravan had become separated from a car before being involved in a collision with a roadside barrier.
"No injuries were reported however the caravan did obstruct a live lane.
"It had been removed by around 2.20pm."
