Two men have been arrested after a man was “stabbed” in a high street.
Emergency service crews descended onto North Street, in Milton Regis, Sittingbourne, on Thursday (July 20) after reports of a serious assault.
Police say a man was taken to hospital with an injury consistent with a stab wound but he has now been discharged.
Two local men, in their 20s, have since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both suspects were later bailed to return to the police station on Sunday, October 22, pending further enquiries.
Officers were called just after noon and were seen searching in bushes along North Street.
It is understood that an air ambulance also landed at Milton Recreation Ground at around 11.40am.
A witness said officers had cordoned off one lane of the road and the pavement outside a row of terraced houses by Regis Manor Primary School.
The witness who didn’t want to be named, said: “Something happened right outside the school. The police were looking in the bushes and it is a really tiny cordon that they put up.
“They were asking people in the area if they had heard anything from 5am.”
Anyone who saw the incident or has information including CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage is asked to call the police appeals on 01795 419119, quoting 46/129574/23.
