The A249 Maidstone Road was shut in one direction this afternoon after a crash beneath the M2 overbridge.
Emergency crews were called to the southbound carriageway at Sittingbourne after the three-car smash at about 12.45pm.
Two people - a man and woman thought to be in their 30s - were cut free from one car, while the door was taken off another so paramedics could assess the casualties.
The crash caused long tailbacks until the road was reopened at about 3.30pm.
