A council has hit out at "thoughtless vandals" who destroyed two dog bins in Sittingbourne.
An inspector noticed the damaged bins at the Rectory Playing Fields in Park Avenue, on March 25.
They are two of five at the Rec which are in placed to keep the area clean from dog waste.
The bins were set alight last month and replaced by Swale council at a cost of £700.
A spokesman for the council said: "Not only is this thoughtless vandalism preventing the people who want to do the right thing by clearing up after their dog.
"But it is also very dangerous. Anybody could’ve been hurt and suffered burns that would’ve needed medical attention.
"These dog bins cost £350 each and to replace two needlessly is a waste of public money."
