Woman left with cuts after bag taken in Pembury Street, Sittingbourne

A woman was left with cuts to her knee, elbow and hands after her handbag was snatched.

She was targeted as she stood by her parked car in Pembury Street, Sittingbourne, shortly after 9pm on Sunday, March 17, when she was approached by a man.

He asked her for the time before grabbing her bag and running towards Dover Street along a path parallel to Pembury Court.

Officers are now appealing for information.

The man is white, aged between 40 and 50, 5ft 9" and thin with light brown hair.

He was wearing a dark blue or black hooded top with grey sleeves and the hood up.

The handbag, which was black leather with tassels on the bottom, had a black leather purse with a black bow, bank cards and an iPhone 6.

Detective Constable Rob Feasey said: "During a short struggle she fell to the floor, suffering cuts to her knee, elbow and hands.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or recognises the description of the suspect."
