00:00, 09 May 2003
AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a teenager was stabbed in the head in a street fight in Sittingbourne.
Police were called to Jade Close on the Meads Estate at about 11pm last night following reports from residents of a fight involving three men.
When they arrived they discovered a 17-year-old Eastern European with minor cuts to his head, possibly inflicted with a knife.
Another man fled the scene by car. Later a man was found by police in Rainham and arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.
The 26-year-old is being questioned by police. He is also Eastern European and police say language difficulties are hampering inquiries.
The victim, believed to live in Jade Close, refused treatment from ambulance paramedics called to the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Swale Police on 01795 477055.
